Licensure of Naturopathic Medicine in Michigan

Michigan does not currently license naturopathic physicians (NDs), and Michigan NDs are actively seeking licensure through state legislative efforts. The Michigan Association of Naturopathic Physicians has launched a grassroots campaign to license naturopathic physicians in Michigan.   Volunteer to Help!
For information on how you can help preserve access to nutritional counseling in Michigan, visit Dr. Matthew Marturano's website.

Our goal is to ensure that the citizens of Michigan have the freedom to choose Naturopathic Physicians for their healthcare needs.

Legislation to license the practice of Naturopathic Medicine in Michigan will be introduced in 2010.  If you would like to help, please fill out this form and return it to your naturopathic physician or send to:

Does the licensure effort cost money?

Passing legislation that provides consumer access to care from naturopathic physicians will be a costly process. The Michigan Association of Naturopathic Physicians (a non-profit 501c(6) organization), relies on the generosity of people like you who envision an integrated healthcare system that is truly effective.  All levels of giving are greatly appreciated. Thank you for making the most generous gift possible to facilitate this legislative process!

Whether you are writing a letter or speaking to a legislator, be sure to include the following information:

  1. Tell the legislator that you support licensing of naturopathic medicine in your state.
  2. Share your personal story. Personal stories are the single most powerful tool in the legislative efforts.
  3. Leave information with the legislator regarding the state association. MANP brochures are available at your naturopathic physician’s office.
  4. Be sure to thank them for their time, both in person and with a follow-up thank you note where you can repeat the highlights of your success story.

Thank You!

The Naturopathic Physicians of Michigan thank you for your interest and generous support to improve access to natural medicine in our state
