Licensing Issues for Michigan Naturopaths

States that license naturopathic physicians allow the health care consumer access to physician-level, safe, effective, science-based natural health care. They set standards for education and training of ND's and restrict the title "naturopathic physician" to those licensed under a licensing act.

The Michigan Association of Naturopathic Physicians believes that the highest available standards of naturopathic medical profession should be incorporated into statutory language. Establishing a naturopathic licensing board would set the standard by which consumers can identify and choose their natural healthcare provider.

Licensing naturopathic physicians in the state of Michigan would be an important step forward in meeting the critical needs of Michiganders who are seeking a more natural and less invasive approach to healthcare. Through responsible regulation, Michiganders will benefit from a natural complement to the conventional system of medicine already regulated.   Click here to volunteer to help the MANP obtain licensure for Naturopathic medicine.
